Structured development built around your starting point—and your journey.
EWD individual training is a progression that follows the same structured progression as our group classes—Secure Foundations, Controlled Competency, and Defensive Readiness—and is tailored to you. Whether you’re new to firearms or refining existing skills, training is custom-fit to your current level and pace, targeted to achieving your goals.
This is not generic instruction. It’s deliberate training with a clear path forward, built to develop consistency, control, and decision-making under pressure and real-world application.
How It Works
- Initial assessment of experience, goals, and current capability
- Structured sessions aligned to your level within the EWD progression
- Focus on safety, efficiency, and application—not random drills
- Clear progression from fundamentals to real-world context
If you’ve taken a class, this is how you continue progressing. If you haven’t, this is where you can start with direct guidance.
Training Paths
Level 1: Secure Foundations
Build safe, repeatable fundamentals that hold under no pressure. This level establishes the baseline for everything that follows—without shortcuts or assumptions.
Focus:
- Firearm safety and responsible handling
- Grip, stance, and trigger control
- Shot accountability and consistency
- Introduction to live-fire application
Best for:
- New shooters who want to build correctly from the start
- Individuals looking to correct poor or inconsistent fundamentals
- Those who value structure over trial-and-error
Level 2: Controlled Competency
Develop consistency under light pressure and build efficient, repeatable gun handling. This level focuses on eliminating hesitation and reinforcing control as complexity increases.
Focus:
- Efficient weapon manipulation (draw, reloads, malfunctions)
- Accuracy under time constraints
- Economy of motion and consistency
- Introduction to movement and positioning
Best for:
- Shooters who understand the basics but lack consistency
- Individuals stuck at a plateau and need structured progression
- Those ready to move beyond static range habits
Level 3: Defensive Readiness
Apply skills in context. This level introduces decision-making, environmental variables, and problem-solving under controlled pressure.
Focus:
- Decision-making: when to act and when not to
- Scenario-based application
- Movement, positioning, and environmental awareness
- Integration of skills under realistic constraints
Best for:
- Competent shooters who haven’t applied skills beyond drills
- Individuals preparing for real-world defensive use
- Those committed to disciplined, ongoing development
